10 Big Mistakes to NOT Make While Visiting the Christmas Markets in Europe
The Christmas markets in Europe are truly one of a kind. I’ll never forget walking (okay I started running when I saw it) to my first market in Bruges. It was an experience I’d never had before, but it felt all too familiar.
That’s because the magic in the air reminded me of being a child at Christmas. The music, the atmosphere, and the decor all made me feel like a small child excited for Santa to arrive, all while baking cookies, enjoying looking at Christmas lights, and attending holiday gatherings in the meantime.
After growing up, I never thought I’d have that magical feeling again. That was until I went to my first market. I think that’s why they’re so addicting. And the best part is they are great for people of all ages from children to kids at heart. There are delicious treats, hot beverages (both alcoholic and alcohol-free), and indulgent things. There are decorations and many markets even have themes like a gnome theme or a Medieval theme.
There is music and dancing and live performances. Some even have people dressed up. It is a spectacle all on its own.
A Christmas market getaway is honestly a fantastic experience, but there are some mistakes many people (ourselves included) make while planning and going to the markets. To prevent that, I have a full list of 10 things to NOT do while preparing for the Christmas markets!
So bundle up, grab a hot drink, get cozy, and let’s talk about it!
