Annecy, France Destination Guide

If you’re wondering where my all-time favorite French destination is, it is Annecy.

I’ll never forget my first time exploring this iconic alpine city. I went on a day trip from Grenoble while I was studying abroad, and I immediately fell in love with it.

The old city is enchanting with canals winding all the way to the most gorgeous alpine lake, Lake Annecy. And just to be even more stunning and dramatic, there are mountains surrounding the lake!

I went on to visit Annecy again later that spring, and then in the fall of 2021, I returned and renewed my absolute love and devotion to this place.

The market here is so beautiful, the little palace in the middle of the Thiou Canal is picturesque, and it is honestly impossible to not become obsessed with this place.
